Who we are
The Labour Market Tribunal operates under the Ministry of Labour and Social Security. It provides workers, employers, trade unions and their representatives with a specialised forum where labour disputes are heard and determined fairly, transparently and without unnecessary delay.
The Tribunal combines legal expertise with practical knowledge of the world of work, so that decisions reflect both the law and the realities of the Zambian labour market.
Our values
- Independence — decisions are made impartially, on the evidence and the law.
- Accessibility — simple procedures that parties can follow with or without a lawyer.
- Efficiency — matters are listed and determined promptly.
- Transparency — decisions, cause lists and procedures are published.
- Integrity — the highest standards of professional conduct.
